Is that a pool or a pond?

Now here is something I never thought I'd see.


Two Mallard Ducks, a male and female, landed in our pool and took up residence for the past couple days.
The pool is covered for the winter but we've gotten quite a lot of rain and the cover filled up with a lot of water, almost as deep as our pond! No wonder the ducks thought it looked inviting.
They even took a little time out to preen. Must have felt pretty comfortable to do that.

Well, at least until Mountain Man opened the door and let the dogs out.
