I planted Daffodils last fall around a dogwood tree that is in my side yard. The little garden surrounding it was pretty overgrown and neglected. I decided it needed some cheery color to brighten it up so I ordered a ton of bulbs. The daffodils were the first to bloom!
Believe it or not, my pansies never died over the winter. I planted them in a pot in the summer and left them on my sunny front steps all winter. Not only did they survive but they thrived! I can't say the same thing for the ones I planted in window boxes on my back deck.
I can't take any credit for these beautiful blue hyacinth. They sprouted up right after the daffodils in the little flower bed that I thought was neglected. The previous owner, or perhaps the owner before them planted these as a border around that garden. The yellow daffodils add a dash of sun to the border of purplish blooms.
The cherry trees that line my driveway are bursting their blooms. It's so beautiful. I had to catch the tiny blooms surrounded by the dark bark of the tree. Unfortunately the batteries in my camera died and I only got one photo. But it's a keeper!
