Moonlight Video

I know I just updated with another installment of My Biggest Obsession, but I just found this fantastic Moonlight video. I'd seen it before but thought I'd post it here so everyone can get a better feel for what this show is about. Whenever I tell someone that it's a vampire show, they immediately start to shake their head and say "Oh no, I'm not into that." But this is different and I think this video explains it better than I could.
Enjoy...

How can you resist? Mark your calendars! April 11th at 9:00 on CBS!

My Biggest Obsession, Part IX

But when the night was over and it was time for me and Stacey to leave, Mountain Man didn't take the initiative and ask for my number. He didn't ask for a date or for me to call him. He just said goodbye. Paul asked for my number, so I gave it to him.

Over the next two weeks I soon found out that Paul and I were not cut out for each other. Mountain Man, however, called me almost everyday. He took me to a Flyers game and a bite to eat one night. We don't count that as our first date though because we were just friends at the time. It took some time to realize it but I would get in a really good mood whenever Mike would call me. We would talk on the phone for hours, about anything and everything. I started to really look forward to his calls.

I decided that this relationship needed some investigating. I really enjoyed his company and we always had a good time whenever we'd talk. Mountain Man was a DJ at a bar in Philly. He'd go on at 9:00 on Saturday nights and one night he talked me into coming up to see him. Since it was far, I'd spend the night. I had spent the night when we went to the Flyers game and slept in his spare room. That is one thing that really impressed me with him. He had his own three bedroom house, a good job, his own vehicle (a pick up truck!) and he seemed really stable.

He was also a perfect gentleman towards me. He never tried anything on me when I stayed there, unless you count trying to keep me awake so we could talk longer. Mountain Man can talk!

One day, I took the initiative and kissed Mountain Man. And much to my delight he kissed me back. I was over the moon. The kiss felt right, comfortable. It was our first of many more to come. During the week we would talk every night and sometimes he'd call me during the day at lunchtime. On the weekends my daughter and I would go stay with him. He was great with my daughter too, although he teased her a lot. Mountain Man loves to tease. In fact, I had to grow a much tougher skin if I was going to be around him. Nothing was sacred!

The months flew by and Mountain Man and I grew closer with each day. He knew all about my obsession with Eric Desjardins but didn't mind it. He was comfortable in his own skin and with who he was to understand that it was just a crush on a "celebrity" and that it didn't have any bearing on how I felt about him. Let me tell you, that was a refreshing change!

Before I knew it, June was upon me. The fund raiser for Eric Desjardins' Ice Rink was fast approaching. My buddy, Smiledarlin, worked it out for us to drive to Quebec and stay the first night with her friends in NY and then two nights in a hotel in Rouyn Noranda, Quebec. Then we'd play it by ear on the drive home. The time came for me to go. My daughter was set to stay with her grandmother. Smiledarlin and I left for our adventure. Boy was it exciting for us too! The northern region of North America is simply beautiful.

We talked and listened to country music for hours as Smiledarlin drove her trusty truck north. When it got dark, we were traveling through what looked like a secluded wooded section of wilderness. Suddenly, without warning, Smiledarlin pulls over on to the side of the road and puts the truck in park. She looks over at me and says "Get out". I can't begin to tell you all the craziness that went through my head at that moment.

Now, I should tell you that I had known Smiledarlin for about two years, maybe, at this point. We met at her store where I rented space as a crafter. Part of our rental agreement was that we had to work a certain amount of hours in the store helping customers find things. It was a great deal. By doing my shift, I got to know Smiledarlin and a few other crafters pretty well. I knew that we had a lot in common and I enjoyed her company. I knew she was married and had two kids and I'd met her family. But when she looked at me through the darkness and told me to get out of the truck, on a deserted road in the middle of nowhere, at a few minutes to midnight, in the pitch blackness of night, I wondered just how well I knew this woman who I entrusted my life with! She wouldn't tell me why she wanted me to get out of the truck, she just said get out. She must have seen the terrified look on my face though because she added "trust me" to her command. I wanted to. Believe me, I wanted to trust her. But my overactive imagination ran away with me. I began to wonder if I made a colossal, monumental mistake in judgment. I quickly realized that I was completely in her mercy. It sounds so funny to admit all of this but at the time the only things going through my head were countless reports of mutilated bodies found in the woods by people passing by with their dogs. Murders committed by people the victims knew and trusted.

But her gently spoken plea of "trust me" brought me back to reality. This was my friend, my confidant. Of course I could trust her! I got out of the truck and then she got out too. She walked to the front of the truck and motioned for me to join her there. When I did she softly said "look up". I did as she asked. Laid out before me like a blanket was a sea of stars so bright and beautiful on a clear black sky. It was unbelievable. I'd never seen so many stars in one place in my entire life. And I've never seen that many since. It was like we were standing in the middle of the Milky Way. My mouth dropped open and I just said "wow!" Mere words can not express the wondrous site. I wish everyone could have the chance to see that at some point in their lifetime.

We got back in the truck and drove to Smiledarlin's friend's house. It was a very interesting house in that it had a couple different additions to it. It was in a beautiful setting with the woods in back. It was late and I was beat so we didn't really stay up talking after I was introduced to Smiledarlin's friends. We went to bed and even though I was exhausted, it was hard to get to sleep because I knew that the next day I would be in Eric Desjardin's home town!

To be continued...

Here is a new video to support my show... Moonlight. We need your help. CBS isn't promoting Moonlight enough. I never knew this show even existed until the writer's strike was already underway! Now that I know about it, have watched all 12 episodes multiple times and completely fallen in love with it, I'm not about to sit still and watch CBS cancel it.

Watch this video. It was a collaborative effort between Darkravyn and Kandeygirl (two very devoted Moonlight fans):

You can help. Yes, that's right. On April 11th Moonlight returns with the first of 4 new episodes. I'm very excited about this. Mick and Beth's story must continue. The thing is, though, that if the ratings are not pretty high for those 4 episodes then the likelihood of CBS renewing Moonlight is slim. So please, mark your calendars and tune in to CBS on Friday, April 11th at 9:00 p.m. and watch this show.

I know that April 11th is far away. So I'll be reminding you every now and then. ;)
Thank you for your support!
